President Margvelashvili Awards Michel Sogny the Order of Honor

Awards ceremony of the French musician, professor and honorary consul of Lithuania, Mr. Michel Sogny has been held today, at the Presidential Palace.
The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has awarded the renowned composer for his special contribution to the professional development of young Georgian pianists.
"It is a great honor for me to receive this award, because I love Georgia. I discovered this country 20 years ago and did my best to introduce Georgian artists and Georgia to Europe. I promoted development of young musicians and today I continue the same activity through “SOS Talents Foundation”. It is a pleasure to support this beautiful country of unique culture. It is a great honor for me and I am proud of what I do for Georgia," said Mr. Sogny.
The awards ceremony has also been attended by advisors to the President and a well-known Georgian pianist, Ms. Eliso Bolkvadze.
The French composer has visited Tbilisi to conduct master classes for Georgian pianists as a part of Batumi International Festival. As mentioned, Mr. Sogny has founded “SOS Talents Foundation” through which he has been actively promoting professional development of Georgian pianists for 20 years.
The laureates of the Foundation have been Khatia and Gvantsa Buniatishvili, Tamar Beraia, Tedo Diakonidze, Ana Gogava, Gvantsa Kobalia, and Barbare Chkhaidze at different times. This year, Ana Kipiani leaves for England to continue her studies, while Barbare Tatararadze and Ilia Lomtatidze will represent Georgia in international arenas and competitions.
