On the Occasion of the World Down Syndrome Day, the First Lady of Georgia, Mrs. Maka Chichua has participated in the conference “My Voice in Society”. Mrs. Chichua has addressed the audience and underscored the importance of social integration of people with Down syndrome.
"My friendship with people with Down syndrome counts its third year and in this period we have learned many things from one other with the help of those parents, whose efforts enabled us to freely discuss these issue.
We, of course, have a lot more to do in the direction, but I do not want to be unappreciative and not mention those significant steps that we have taken in this direction through the recent years. Today people with Down syndrome can communicate our message in regard to Down syndrome day by themselves and discuss their rights in “My Voice in Society”, - stated Mrs. Chichua.
