President of the Republic of Cyprus Holds his First-Ever Official Visit to Georgia

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiades, will pay his first-ever official visit to Georgia.
The Presidents of Georgia and Cyprus will hold one-on-one talks as well as expanded meetings with their delegations, and will issue joint press statements after participating in a document signing ceremony.
As a part of the official visit, meetings between Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze and Chairman of the Parliament Irakli Kobakhidze are planned. Also, President Nikos Anastasiades and First Lady Andri Anastasiades will meet with Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II.
Further, a Cyprus-Georgia Business Forum is set to be held. The Presidents of Georgia and Cyprus will both participate in the forum, together with representatives of the business sector.  Revaz Lominadze, Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Cyprus, stated that it might be said without exaggeration that this visit is very important as it is the first official visit of a President of Cyprus since the beginning of our diplomatic relations.
“The official visit underlines the fact that cooperation between our countries is progressing. Discussions will be focused on further prospects of our partnership. Further, our bilateral relations and aspects of our tight and result-oriented cooperation with the European Union will be discussed. We have already achieved some progress, especially in the area of preservation of cultural heritage, where we have an absolutely unique relationship. This first official visit will also reveal other potential fields of our cooperation,” said Revaz Lominadze.
