First Social Enterprise on Victims of Violence Launches with Presidential Fund Support

Ketevan Makharashvili, Advisor to the President on Gender Equality Issues, attended the official inauguration ceremony of the first social enterprise on victims of violence “Anastasia.” The project was created with support of the Presidential Fund as part of a national network to protecting victims against violence.
The aim of the social enterprise is professional education of women who were victims of violence, their economic empowerment, and supporting them to live independently.
As Ketevan Makharashvili stated, the Presidential Fund financed the anti-violence network, which today opened an enterprise where women who are the victims of violence are employed.
“The President of Georgia supports this initiative and continues to assist this opportunity, which gives women a chance to firmly stand economically, leave the violent environment, start a new life, and create a better environment for their children,” said Ketevan Makharashvili.
The Embassy of Poland in Georgia, the Embassy of Estonia in Georgia, the Presidential Fund of Georgia, the Women’s Fund in Georgia, the International Women's Association in Georgia, WAVE (Women Against Violence – Europe), Kvinna till Kvinna, the Fund of Sigrid Rasing, Toyota, Georgia - Bolero & Co, and JSC "Telasi" were united toward this goal.
