Press Speaker Khatia Moistsrapishvili held her weekly press conference today. The Press Speaker told attending members of the media about current issues and responded to their questions.

“The world celebrates International Autism Awareness Day today.
“The President of Georgia considers that it is important to put the public spotlight on this day.
“President Salome Zourabichvili pays attention that autism is one an intense challenge intense, and she believes it is crucial to assist people on the Autism Spectrum and help them integrate into our society. It is important to create a more inclusive society, a clear sign that we belong to the European society.

“Today, the President of Georgia will host kids on the Autism Spectrum at the Presidential Palace in the context of the International World Autism Awareness Day,” said Moistsrapishvili.
“The President of Georgia expresses her deep sympathy on the tragic death of two construction workers in Tbilisi on March 31 and sends her condolences to their families.
“Herewith, the President of Georgia expresses her concerns about the violation of safety standards on construction sites that took the lives of two employees.

“President Salome Zourabichvili has stated that EU integration is not only joining European structures but also launching European standards, including European safety standards, among others.
“As she also mentioned, ensuring proper standards, especially in the construction industry, is a priority issue that needs to be resolved,” said Press Speaker Khatia Moistsrapishvili.

The President of Georgia will attend the opening ceremony of the European Weightlifting Championship for the International Day of Sports on April 6 in Batumi to show her support for sports’ development. The European Weightlifting Championship will be held in the new, multifunctional Sports Palace of Batumi. Up to 400 sportsmen will participate in the championship.
