Presidential Adviser Ketevan Tatoshvili Participates in 11th Edition of the Monaco Blue Initiative

On Thursday, Ketevan Tatoshvili, Presidential Adviser on Economic, Business, Health and Social Affairs, participated in the online workshop held as part of the 11th edition of the Monaco Blue Initiative to address conservation measures for marine protected areas and joint international actions for their development. The MBI is a project of Prince Albert II of Monaco, with the participation of Monaco’s Oceanographic Institute and Mrs. Tatoshvili attended following the invitation by the Prince for President Salome Zourabichvili during their phone call on 27 May. The workshop focused on deep-sea biodiversity, the sustainable management of marine resources, the preservation and development of protected areas, and keeping focus on marine ecology during the COVID-19 pandemic. Along with Mrs. Tatoshvili, high-level representatives of the French Republic and the European Commission and scientific experts participated in the workshop.
 
Following the workshop, Mrs. Tatoshvili underlined the importance of the event for experience-sharing and future cooperation, adding that “this subject is vital also for Georgia due to our focus on the Black Sea’s biodiversity and on the preservation and restoration of our ecosystem.”
