Today, Press Speaker of the President of Georgia Khatia Moistsrapishvili held her weekly press conference with the media and briefed them about the President’s official visits.
“The President of Georgia will head to the Republic of Latvia for an official visit today. On May 15, President Salome Zourabichvili will hold a one-on-one meeting with the President of the Republic of Latvia, Raimonds Vējonis. Following the one-on-one meeting, the President of Georgia will meet the President of the Republic of Latvia in an enhanced format meeting. After that, President Salome Zourabichvili and President Raimonds Vējonis will give a joint press conference.
On the same day, President Salome Zourabichvili will hold a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, Krišjānis Kariņš. President Zourabichvili will also meet with the sixth Latvian President, Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga.
As a part of her official visit, President Salome Zourabichvili will also meet Representatives of the Georgian diaspora and Georgian students. The official visit will end on May 16. On Thursday, May 16, the President of Georgia will pay a visit to the Republic of Estonia during which, President Salome Zourabichvili will hold a meeting with the President of Estonia. Other high-ranking meetings are also planned as part of her official visit. Apart from this, President Salome Zourabichvili signed legislative amendments regarding sexual harassment on May 10, last Friday,” stated Khatia Moistsrapishvili.
The Press Speaker stated that amendments entered into force in the Labor Code, the Law on Public Defender, and the Civil, Procedural and Administrative Offences Code of Georgia. The President welcomed the initiative offered by the Parliament that ensures regulation of such discrimination in labor relations or in public space
