Ceremony of Awarding Credentials by the Newly Appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the US was Held at the Presidential Palace

President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili was awarded with credentials by the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the US Jan Kelly.
After the ceremony the President of Georgia held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the US. The sides discussed perspectives of deepening relations between Georgia and the US.
The sides also discussed the current situation on the occupied territories, problems of regional cooperation and issues of Georgia’s European and Euro Atlantic integration.
“I am glad that I am in Georgia again. It is a great honor for me that the President of Georgia received me so quickly that once more points out to the great importance that is attached to the relations between our countries.
During our meeting we discussed the issues of security, economy, trade and culture, including the issue of supporting Georgian educational system development. We noted that it is very important to deepen the ties in these and other fields.
We also talked about the importance that is paid to deepening relations between Georgia and the US”, - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the US Jan Kelly stated.
