President of Georgia Meets the Georgian Diaspora living in New York

The Head of State started his working visit to the US with meeting the representatives of the Georgian Diaspora.
 
The meeting was conducted in a question-answer format; Georgians living in America were interested in the President’s opinion regarding double citizenship.
 
The President of Georgia talked with the Diaspora representatives about the country’s political and economic situation, Georgian-Russian relations, foreign political course and current situation of the occupied territories.
 
Giorgi Margvelashvili stressed the significant role of the Diaspora which is played by our citizens living abroad in Georgia’s economic, political and cultural development.
 
They also discussed the perspectives of increasing opportunities of receiving education by the youth abroad, repatriation issues and returning the Diaspora representatives to the homeland.
 
After the meeting the folk ensemble of Georgian immigrants “Pesvebi” performed some concert performances from their repertoire in honor of the President.
