President Margvelashvili Meets with the Students of the Summer School on Constitutional and Human Rights Law

The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has held a meeting with the students of the Summer School on Constitutional and Human Rights Law.
The Summer School, established by the Constitutional Court of Georgia and Ilia State University Law School, celebrates its 10th anniversary. The School aims at increasing professional knowledge of prospective lawyers in the constitutional and human rights law.
President Margvelashvili has discussed the dynamic constitutional reform which is underway in the country.
According to the President, the Constitution is not only a legal, but a political-philosophical document, the major themes of which should be in agreement with public. The Constitution is a document of consent.
The meeting has been held in question-answer format. Students have shown interest in the social status of the state in constitutional amendments, presidential elections, electoral system, definition of a family unit and education issues.
The meeting has also been attended by the Advisor to the President of Georgia for Foreign Affairs Mr. Tengiz Pkhaladze, the author of the idea of the Summer School and the Former Chairman of the Constitutional Court Mr. Giorgi Papuashvili.
The President has presented the Constitution of Georgia to the students.
