President Margvelashvili: Georgia Is Eager to Enhance Cooperation in Education with the European Union

As part of his working visit to Brussels, the President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has held a meeting with the European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Mr. Tibor Navracsics.
At the meeting, the Georgian party has emphasized the country’s aspiration to reach the EU standards in education. Positive dynamics and progress in the cooperation between the European Commission and the Georgian Government, including in terms of advancing sectoral integration have been underscored.
As noted, education is one of the top priorities on Georgia’s domestic agenda and the country is eager to further enhance cooperation with the EU in this area.
President Margvelashvili has welcomed the establishment of the European school in Tbilisi. Being one of the tangible outcomes of the EU integration, the school enables the young generations, not only from Georgia, but from the partner countries to acquire European education in Tbilisi.
President Margvelashvili has underscored the EU’s significant contribution to successful implementation of educational reforms in Georgia. He has emphasized Georgia's successful performance in the EU program, ERASMUS +. President Margvelashvili has welcomed the creation of the special fund of 6 million Euros for the Georgian students, experiencing financial hardships. It enables Georgian students to fully realize their potential through the program.
