President Margvelashvili Signs Condolence Book for George H.W. Bush

Giorgi Margvelashvili, President of Georgia has visited the US Embassy to Tbilisi to express his condolences to the government and people of the United States on the passing of former president, George H. W. Bush.
"Let me express my condolences to the American people, Bush's family and relatives on the passing of the country's honorable son.
Georgian people remember George H.W. Bush for his role in the dissolution of the Soviet Empire, the key historic moment for Georgia’s future recognition. Aside his outstanding state service, we will not forget that he was one of the youngest pilots in the World War II, who escaped death miraculously. George H.W. Bush was the person who, upon the end of his term, wrote one of the most remarkable letters to the president-elect, blessing his former rival and wishing him success.
On behalf of the Georgian society, I show support to the brotherly American people in this difficult moment of loss,” President Margvelashvili’s letter of condolence reads.
