President Margvelashvili and UN Ambassadors Discuss Non-Recognition Policy of Georgia’s Occupied Territories

President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has held a meeting with UN Ambassadors visiting Tbilisi to discuss the current environment in the occupied territories of Georgia and non-recognition policy. President Margvelashvili has presented his view on the complex situation in the occupied territories of Georgia and tragic cases of Giga Otkhozoria and Archil Tatunashvili. He has also spoken about the steps that Georgia takes to protect its citizens and compatriots.
According to Tengiz Pkhaladze, Advisor to President Margvelashvili for Foreign Affairs, humanitarian problems that are recurring in the occupied territories of Georgia require special attention from international organizations, especially from the UN.
The meeting also focused on the UN resolution recognizing right of return for refugees, internally displaced persons in Georgia. President Margvelashvili has once again called on Georgia’s partners countries to support this resolution.
