President Zourabichvili: I Wish Enguri Bridge Would Become a Unifying Bridge in the Nearest Future

Salome Zourabichvili, President of Georgia has paid a visit to the policemen of the Special Tasks Department at the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the Rukhi checkpoint near the conflict zone in Zugdidi region.
President Zourabichvili has wished a happy New Year to the policemen, ensuring security and crime prevention at the Rukhi checkpoint and thanked them for their service. President Zourabichvili has discussed the situation in the conflict zone with the local population at the Enguri Bridge.
“I am here for the second time. At first, I visited this place as a newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs. More than fifteen years have passed since then and we are here once again. This is a huge tragedy for our country. We stand on the bridge that splits our population.
Our citizens are at the both sides of this bridge and therefore I would like to wish a happy New Year and a merry Christmas to everyone living in Gali and also to our Abkhaz brothers and sisters. I wish the Enguri Bridge would become a unifying bridge in the nearest future,” President Zourabichvili said.
