Lighting of President’s Christmas Tree Takes Place in Gori

The lighting of the President’s Christmas Tree has been held once again outside of Tbilisi, in a move to support the empowerment of Georgian regions, a priority set out by President Salome Zourabichvili. From Gori, the President congratulated the Georgian population on Christmas.
“I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! First and foremost, let me congratulate all the kids in attendance today, and I wish them to live in a peaceful and united country. I am confident that Georgia will be peaceful and united if we work our utmost toward this goal.
“It is of vital importance that we are in Gori today, near the villages that deal with the most challenging situation and are waiting for the country’s unification. I would like to once again congratulate you all,” addressed the President.
Georgian musical personalities, actors from the Theater of Gori, Gori’s Folk Ensemble, the Gori Women's Chapel, and the Gori Girls' Choir participated in the concert held with support of the Administration of the President.
Christmas gifts were given to the kids attending the lighting of the President’s Christmas Tree.
A similar celebration was held in Zugdidi last year at the initiative of the President.
