Following the ceremony, the President held an introductory meeting with the diplomats at the Orbeliani Palace. The sides discussed the existing relations and prospects for further cooperation between the countries. President Zourabichvili wished the ambassadors success in their future endeavors.

H.E. Enrico Valvo, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Georgia underscored that the bilateral relations between Georgia and Italy in all aspects are strong.

“We had a very good conversation with the President of Georgia. We reviewed bilateral Italian-Georgian relations, which are good under any respect, and we both expressed the wish that through our work, we can make them grow again, in all fields with particular attention to economy, culture, and political dimensions,” said Enrico Valvo.

After his meeting with the President, H.E. Ran Gidor emphasized that President Zourabichvili underscored the bilateral relations between Georgia and Israel, which need special attention, and reiterated her friendly stance towards Israel.

“It is certainly reciprocated by us, as well. Everyone knows that the Georgians and the Jews have been enjoying twenty six centuries of friendship, and undoubtedly that the coming years have served to consolidate that friendship even more,” said Ran Gidor.
