Official Reception of President Grybauskaitė and Lithuanian State Delegation Is Held at Presidential Palace

At the reception, Georgian and Lithuanian presidents have honored the Georgian flag and presented state delegations.
President Dalia Grybauskaitė’s visit aims at strengthening bilateral dialogue between the two countries, supporting Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity through Lithuania’s participation in celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the First Democratic Republic of Georgia and discussing preparation for the upcoming NATO Summit.
"6 heads of state and the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Junker will visit Georgia.
President Grybauskaitė’s bilateral visit is also dedicated to this very important occasion, the 100th anniversary of Georgia’s First Republic.
Our countries share special relations; therefore, the future prospects for developing these ties will be the major topic raised at the face-to-face meeting of President Margvelashvili and President Grybauskaitė.
We will discuss bilateral relations and prospects for its further development. Obviously, this is one of the most important occasions to reiterate our positions in the context of the upcoming NATO Summit and discuss security issues and coordinated steps that Georgia and Lithuania should take in the international arena to strengthen Georgia’s security and European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations,” Tengiz Pkhaladze, Advisor to President Margvelashvili for Foreign Affairs said.
