President Zourabichvili to Participate in Pilsudski Square Ceremony for 80th Anniversary World War II

Andrzej Duda, President of Poland, mentioned the occupation of Georgia’s territories in his speech and during the ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary since the start of World War II in Warsaw’s Pilsudski Square and highlighted that Europe has not made respective conclusions out of World War II.

“Georgia in 2008, Ukraine in 2014. Occupation, military captives, provocations are still ongoing issues. We should be conceptualized. We take responsibility before the population of Europe and the world that military aggression will not be repeated.
Today, we are still coping with imperialist tendencies in Europe that are demonstrated by attempts to forcibly change the borders as well as by the aggression against countries, stealing lands, and kidnappings. Closing our eyes on the latter issues is not the way to keep the peace.

This is a way to actually agree with and encourage new attacks.” President Salome Zourabichvili is paying her visit to Poland following President Duda’s invitation. Delegations from forty countries are attending the ceremony in Poland.
