Working Visit of President Margvelashvili to the United States Begins

The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has paid a working visit to the United States. The visit aims at strengthening the US support for Georgia's security and promoting Georgia's NATO integration process.
"The main goal of this visit is to gain more support for Georgia’s independence, security and democratic development from the US Government. The United States is a global player and a guarantor of success of small nations fighting for freedom. As part of the visit, we will hold high-level meetings in the US Senate and Congress. This is the political space where Georgia receives great support from both political parties; at the same time, the United States has permanent interests in Georgia and the region. These interests are generated in this political space. Georgia’s occupation will once again be raised on the agenda. We look forward to these very interesting meetings," Secretary of the National Security Council of Georgia, Mr. Davit Rakviashvili said.
As part of the visit, President Margvelashvili will hold meetings with the US Senators and Congressmen, including the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Paul Ryan, House Minority Leader, Nancy Pelosi and House Majority Leader, Kevin McCarthy.
President Margvelashvili will take part in the conference “US-Georgia Partnership” to be held with the support of the Atlantic Council. He will deliver a public lecture at Georgetown University and meet with the Atlantic Council, NDI and IRI leaderships. President Margvelashvili will also participate in a round-table discussion at the Hudson Institute and deliver a speech at Heritage Foundation. In Washington D.C., President Margvelashvili will meet with Georgian diaspora representatives.
