​President Margvelashvili Meets OSCE Secretary General

Giorgi Margvelashvili, President of Georgia has held a meeting with Thomas Greminger, OSCE Secretary General. The meeting focused on prospects for advancing Georgia-OSCE relations, Georgia’s occupied territories, security challenges facing the country and OSCE’s involvement in these processes.
President Margvelashvili has briefed Thomas Greminger on the ongoing democratic reforms in Georgia and upcoming presidential elections.
As highlighted, Georgia's challenges should be put high on the OSCE agenda. Thomas Greminger has thanked President Margvelashvili for Georgia’s involvement in various OSCE operations. Following the meeting, Thomas Grimminger said he has a good sense of the difficulties facing Georgia.
“First, I wanted to thank Georgia and Georgian authorities for their very substantive contribution to the OSCE. Second, I want to assure the President, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of our commitment to Geneva International Discussion and IPRM format. Thirdly, I wanted to explore the possibilities to further deepen, strengthen, and expand Georgia-OSCE relations,” Thomas Greminger said.
