President Margvelashvili Awards Order of Honor Posthumously to Vitali Daraselia

As part of the festive week marking the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili, President of Georgia has awarded Order of Honor posthumously to Vitali Daraselia, FC Dinamo Tbilisi football player for his personal contribution to the development and promotion of Georgian football, high professionalism and worldwide recognized achievements.
President Margvelashvili has handed over the award to Vitali Daraselia’s family members at Georgian Football Federation. Levan Kobiashvili, President of Georgian Football Federation has hosted President Margvelashvili.
"We celebrate the 100th anniversary of the First Republic. In this week we mark and appreciate the special contribution of those people who make us proud and unite us all. One of the most outstanding parts of the Georgian society are and have always been our sportsmen, especially football players.
Your wins at that moment were not just successful performance in sports, but Georgia's victory; the victory of the country that despite not being independent, revealed ability of being victorious, successful and brave.
We associate Vitali Daraselia’s name to the special love, pain and admiration of that period.
It is also noteworthy that the Patriarch of Georgia has declared these days as the days of Abkhazia.
Emotion caused by Vitali Daraselia’s performance is unforgettable; the emotion that has strengthened and enabled us to establish a strong independent country.
To highlight his contribution, I would like to award Order of Honor to Mr. Vitali Daraselia posthumously and hand over this award to his family,” President Margvelashvili said.
