Giorgi Margvelashvili presents his Adviser for the Issues of Ethnic Minorities

President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili has met with the representatives of about twenty non-governmental organizations working on the issues of ethnic minorities and presented to them his adviser for the issues of ethnic minorities, Sophio Shamanidi.
President announced before the beginning of the meeting that the establishment of economically and culturally strong state of Georgia was feasible by collaboration with ethnic minorities.
'The uniqueness of Georgia is in having a common goal of the representatives of various ethnicities from its each city and village. We pay particular attention to providing proper circumstances and giving more opportunities to this variety for the revival of our united country,' Giorgi Masgvelashvili announced.
As Sophio Shamanidi said, she would make her best in order to ensure that the representatives of ethnic minorities did not feel themselves of secondary citizens of Georgia.
'The key problem is to maintain traditions and identity. I have experience of working with the representatives with ethnic minorities – I myself represent such a minority. I am well aware of their problems, because I contact them everyday,' President's adviser said.
Sophio Shamanidi is the full professor at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. She is the Doctor of Sciences and the author and editor of numerous scientific works.
The meeting of the president with the NGOs working on the issues of ethnic minorities was held in question and answer format.
The meeting was held at the hotel Radisson Blu Iveria.
