President attends presentation of the Georgian Dialect Corps.

President of Georgia visited the National Library of the Parliament of Georgia and attended the presentation of the Georgian Dialect Corps today. The presentation was held in the frames of the project “Georgia’s Linguistic Portrait” implemented by the Tbilisi State University Arnold Chikobava Institute of Linguistic Sciences.
Giorgi Margvelashvili addressed the audience and emphasized the significance of the project. President said a work of great importance was done from the point of view of nation’s spiritual and intellectual protection and development. He also said the project had a national importance and it was the best way for preserving and presenting the nation’s identity and individualism.
“Georgia’s Dialect Corps” is an information-data search system constructed on the bases of modern technologies, which allows to save, describe or research any of the subsystems of the Georgian language or other dialect data. The project implementation is supported by the National Library and it aims at popularizing the corps as the huge linguistic and cultural product comprising Georgian linguistic materials among various social groups.
The event at the National Library was attended by the management of the National Library, the Institute of Linguistic Sciences, rector of the Tbilisi State University, members of the parliament of Georgia, executive officials and others.
