President Margvelashvili: Georgian Diaspora Should Be Actively Involved in the Centennial Celebration of Georgia’s Independence

The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has held a reception at the Embassy of Georgia in Washington and together with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United States, David Bakradze hosted an event for the Georgian diaspora.
President Margvelashvili has spoken about the significance of his visit to the United States.
According to President Margvelashvili, this year Georgia will celebrate a historic occasion, the 100th anniversary of the First Georgian Republic. He has shown willingness to summarize these 100 years together with Georgian population and immigrants. He hopes that Georgian diaspora will be actively engaged in the prospective celebration. 
President Margvelashvili has launched the campaign "From Independence to Liberty” that aims at learning more about these 100 years of Georgia’s ancient history.
"This visit aims at intensifying a dialogue with the state that has become so powerful by recognizing not only its own, but the freedoms of other nations," President Margvelashvili said and thanked Mr. Bakradze for his fruitful and successful activities in the United States.
President Margvelashvili has highlighted the contribution of those Georgians who get education in the United States in order to use their knowledge and abilities for the further development of Georgia.
