President Zourabichvili, President Rivlin Agree on Intensifying Work for Legal Employment of Georgian Citizens Agreement

President Salome Zourabichvili met with H.E. Reuven Rivlin, President of the State of Israel, as part of her visit to Jerusalem ahead of the Fifth World Holocaust Forum.

During the high-level meeting, President Zourabichvili expressed her request to her Israeli counterpart on intensifying the process to finalize an agreement on circular migration. The President noted that such an agreement would allow Georgian citizens to start working legally in Israel and would reduce the flow of illegal immigration coming from Georgia.

Lasha Zhvania, Ambassador of Georgia to the State of Israel, emphasized that the draft agreement on circular migration has been almost completed, but its signing was postponed due to the ongoing legislative elections. The agreement would also help Israel settle the ongoing situation at its borders, where many cases of deportations of Georgian citizens have been taking place.

Ambassador Zhvania also noted that President Zourabichvili and President Rivlin agreed on intensifying the signing process of such an agreement.
