President Zourabichvili Offers Patronage to the Georgian State Museum of Theater, Music, Cinema and Choreography

President Salome Zourabichvili signed a memorandum with the Director of the Georgian Art Palace, Giorgi Kalandia.
According to the memorandum, the Art Palace will operate under the patronage of the President of Georgia.
The memorandum was signed at the Art Palace today.
According to President Zourabichvili, culture carries a huge importance for state prosperity and for the reinforcement and maintenance of our society.
“Theater, music, cinema and choreography are part of our soul. Our cultural memory and the important part of our cultural heritage is rooted there. However, it is sadly not well preserved. For instance, theater’s creative archive is disappearing, but our film heritage still exists and its transformation on digital format is underway. A huge part of this heritage is preserved at this museum. Its maintenance, promotion abroad, and familiarizing for tourists is our duty,” said President Zourabichvili.
The First Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport, Mikheil Giorgadze also attended the ceremony of signing memorandum.
