President Zourabichvili Addresses Georgian Population, Suggests Enjoying Holidays in their Homeland

President Salome Zourabichvili held her first working meeting with the Head of the Adjara Autonomous Republic Government, Tornike Rijvadze, and local authorities.

The President underlined that this first meeting with the Government of the Adjara Autonomous Republic and the discussions held were very interesting, touching regional development and investment opportunities and the growth of tourism.

“Plenty of new investments projects are underway in Adjara. The growing rate of tourism is clearly visible. However, we are aware that some problems exist and it was very encouraging to hear that the increasing trend of tourism has not slowed down, which is of utmost importance for our country and this region.

“Let me take this opportunity once again and address everyone to ask you to enjoy this vacation season in Georgia. I will reiterate this statement very soon at the high-level Batumi International Conference next week.

“That conference, which will be attended by representatives from our partner states, is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership.

“The Conference will be a stage for rapprochement with the EU and the fact that Batumi will be hosting such a high-level international conference is very important,” stated President Zourabichvili.
