President Zourabichvili: “Medical Tourism is Crucial for Georgia, the Country of Medea”

President Salome Zourabichvili inaugurated the 15th Congress of the International Women’s Dental Forum. President Zourabichvili welcomed the participants of the conference, wished them productive work and expressed hope that the conference would support its participants in achieving more progress in the protection of women’s and children’s health.

“It is of paramount importance that a forum of this scale be dedicated to women’s issues. It is widely known that as overcoming health threats is becoming more and more important, women are taking more steps to care for the next generations, because we are mothers and it is our responsibility.
“I would like to thank the Women’s International Association of the World Dental Congress that actively supported this forum in Batumi.

“This conference is very important for Georgia, as tourism is a priority for our country. Notably, such tourism as conference tourism and medical tourism, because medical tourism carries a historical significance for Georgia, the motherland of Medea. We must expand medical tourism and promote our high amount of resorts in our regions. It is a huge potential for Georgia.

“This is why holding such a large-scale conference is another serious step forward. It is very important that today, a lot of women are gathered here, as female leaders are becoming more influential.
“Let me also mention that the female Minister of Defense of Germany has been nominated as a candidate for the Presidency of the European Commission, and I highly hope her candidature will be approved by the European Parliament. At the same time, the Chairwoman of the International Monetary Fund is now the candidate for the post of President of President of the European Central Bank.

“All of this represents great achievements for those who care about women’s health and their role in health care policy. Together we will do great things,” stated President Zourabichvili at the conference.
The President of the World Dental Federation (FDI), Kathryn Kell, invited President Zourabichvili at the World Forum of Dental Health, to be held in San Francisco, CA on September 7.
