President Urges Population to Use Free Hepatitis C Screening

President Salome Zourabichvili received, along with the local population in Gurjaani, a free Hepatitis C screening, under the framework of the government program held for the International Day Against Hepatitis C.

President Zourabichvili stated that part of the state program to combat Hepatitis C has already been successful, with people who were suffering from serious illnesses now cured, noting that it is both necessary and crucial that everyone goes through the free screening procedure.

The President highlighted that it is essential to send this message across the country, to defeat Hepatitis C, and to be an exemplary country. It is noteworthy that the “integrated screening” program, which allows for the diagnosis of three major diseases (Hepatitis C, HIV/AIDS, and tuberculosis) within a single week, was launched just a week ago, in Kakheti. Today, President Zourabichvili also visited the “Kakhetie-Yonne French Medical Centre”.
