President Margvelashvili to Pay a Working Visit to Brussels

As part of his working visit to Belgium, the President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili will hold meetings in the European Commission, European Council and NATO headquarters in Brussels on March 8-10.
Topics to be raised in Brussels include Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, ongoing reforms in the country and perspectives of further advancement, obstacles raised in terms of visa-free travel and prospects of Georgia’s sectoral cooperation with the EU.
At the meetings, President Margvelashvili will focus on security issues, situation in the occupied territories of Georgia and Russia's aggressive policy. He will brief the European partners on the abduction and tragic death of a Georgian citizen, Archil Tatunashvili in the occupied Tskhinvali.
On the first day of the visit, President Margvelashvili will hold a meeting with the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, following which the two will make joint media statements. 
He will also meet with the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker and the European Commissioners. President Margvelashvili will have a working dinner with the ambassadors of the European Union member countries.
Georgia’s European integration and visa liberalization process will be discussed on the second day of the visit with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini.
President Margvelashvili will hold a meeting with the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Jens Stoltenberg, following which the two will make joint press statements.
As part of the visit, President Margvelashvili will address the Brussels Forum and visit the Catholic University of Louvain along with the delegation.
Georgian state delegation is comprised of the Head of Administration of President Margvelashvili Giorgi Abashishvili, Secretary of the National Security Council Davit Rakviashvili, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vakhtang Makharoblishvili, Advisor to President Margvelashvili for Foreign Affairs Tengiz Pkhaladze, Parliamentary Secretary of President Margvelashvili Ana Natsvlishvili, Deputy Secretary of the National Security Council Shota Gvineria, Ambassador Extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Kingdom of Belgium and Grand Duchy of Luxemburg and Head of the Georgian mission to the European Union Natalie Sabanadze and Georgia’s Permanent Representative to the North Atlantic Alliance Aleksandre Maisuradze.
