President Margvelashvili Awards Order of Honor to World War II Veterans

President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has paid tribute to casualties of the World War II and laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Vake Park. He has congratulated the World War II veterans on May 9, adding that veterans aged 100 years and more will be awarded the Order of Honor for their personal contribution to the development of the veterans' movement.
President Margvelashvili has assessed May 9 as the most important day in the history of mankind that marks victory over fascism, the most violent and antihuman regime that had been threatening humanity.
"I would like to thank you and show respect to each and every person who went through this struggle. This year we will be awarding the World War II veterans aged 100 years and more who defeated fascism. Thank you for this great victory! Younger generations should be proud of these people and their merit," President Margvelashvili said.
