Meeting with the Marshal of the Polish Senate

At the meeting between President Salome Zourabichvili and the Marshal of the Polish Senate Stanisław Karczewski, it was pointed out that Poland will be Georgia’s ambassador in Europe.
The sides discussed issues regarding Poland’s active support in the process of Georgia’s European integration. It was also stated that Poland is Georgia’s strategic partner that the latter relies on and that Poland’s support is especially important at the current phase of Georgia’s movement toward the European Union and NATO.
At the meeting, President Zourabichvili discussed the existing situation in the region and the Ukraine.
The Marshal of the Senate extended an invitation to President Zourabichvili to Poland on September 1 for the 80th anniversary of the start of World War II, which the President of Georgia accepted.
